History of
Weltevreden
Built in 1994 by Tim and Ingrid Cawood. Tim came to the area when he was 26 having studied agriculture he fell in love with the country side. Having brought the property shortly after that the Weltevreden Manor became Tim and Ingrid’s life time project and farm house where Nicky and Sarah were brought up. The establishment holds memory to a childhood filled with entertainment, love, laughter and friends.
The old farm house holds significant historical value. Tim built the place sourcing the cut stone from …. The sash windows came from and abolished stadium in Port Elizabeth and the wood work has all been hand crafted by Tim himself.

KZN Thyme Out
Accommodation
Recently established by Tim’s daughter Nicky Cawood. Having the passion for guest service and hospitality. Nicky lately moved home from having spent four years in the yachting industry in which she gained insight into guest accommodation and service delivery. It has been Nicky’s dream to establish the Estate into a place where guests can experience the finer things in life and the accustomed service that Nicky has become so familiar with.
While the accommodation offers self- catering facilities, Nicky’s dream is to build a boutique hotel where all-inclusive packages are on offer. The accommodation offers guests a luxurious hideaway in the Hills of Curry’s Post, Home to what some are familiar with as the Natal Midlands.
It is with Nicky’s intention of offering her guests something to write home about that she offers not only a place to stay but a place of discovery. A place where one can hire out the estate as a pop-up wedding venue, a place where guests can entertain and feel at home while experiencing five-star service.
With numerous outdoor activities that the place offers its an ideal place for family and friends to explore the Midlands Meander.
The KZN Midlands accommodation boasts two fully self- catering loft rooms with a bathroom en suite and one semi self-catering family double room.

Offers Guest a farm stay in the country side. Escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Hike the mountainous country side or bring your bikes and cycle the trails down to the Karkloof club. Kid friendly with horse riding and fly fishing just up the road. The area offers guests the midlands meander on your door step. With great places to eat, good coffee and a Natal Midlands experience.
The accommodation is central to most wedding venues with a shuttle service that offers guests transfers to and from the surrounding wedding venues. The place is ideal for bachelorette parties, engagement photo shoots or alternatively an events venue.
Accommodation consists of one family room that sleeps four and shares a bathroom. Our two new units offer full self -catering and are ideal for those couples wanting a quiet getaway. With an option of pre-made meals, fresh garden veg and a braai space it is the perfect spot to put your feet up.
For brides that have just had their wedding there is an option to stay in a luxurious suite where the accommodation will provide a romantic package for your first night as newlyweds.
